Why choose Alpine Apothecary?
Since 2010, our mission has been to provide practitioners and patients with high-quality formulations and outstanding, premium customer service.
Our experienced compounding pharmacists are problem solvers who collaborate and work closely with healthcare prescribers and patients to help find solutions for not only improving individual health, but also quality of life. Existing as a compounding-only pharmacy allows us to focus on compounding medications to the highest degree and being the experts on all matters surrounding those formulations.
Still need a few more reasons to believe in The Alpine Difference?
Good Standing State License
We are in good standing with the Utah Board of Pharmacy (BOP). In fact, Trip Hoffman, owner and pharmacist, was on the BOP from 2013 to 2020 and started and chaired the Utah Compounding Task Force. He was also elected as Chair of the BOP for 2 years (2018 to 2020).
Reliable Source of Materials & Ingredients
We take pride in ordering our bulk chemicals from the best suppliers (PCCA and Medisca).
For more information, visit The PCCA Standard web page.
We also spend considerable time referring to Certificate of Analysis (CoA) to ensure we understand the chemicals we use in our lab.
Routine Testing & Quality Control
We routinely send our products to a 3rd party for potency testing. This verifies our procedures and gives you peace of mind that what you receive is what the label states.
We also go above and beyond by requiring final products to test 95-105% accurate. USP standards requirement is between 90-110% and FDA generic allowance is from 80-125%.
Staff Training & Continuing Education
Our lead pharmacist is one of our best sources of information with over 25 years of experience in compounded products and formulations. As a team, we also attend numerous conferences annually on functional medicine and hormone replacement therapy (HRT).
Recently, the Alpine Apothecary pharmacists completed PCCA’s C4 Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) Specialist Training (July 2020).
Appropriate Gowning & Cleaning Procedures
We follow all State and Federal guidelines to ensure our lab is spotless and clean. This helps ensure that the cross-contamination of chemicals is never an issue. We use procedures to properly deactivate, decontaminate, clean and disinfect between all formulations.
Sophisticated New & Innovative Equipment
Our state-of-the-art lab features the latest technology and innovative equipment that aids in the efficiently and consistency of our compounded products.
We have equipment such as a new NuAire® LabGard® powder containment hood with a double HEPA filter, an EXAKT™ ointment mill, a Mazerustar mixer, a Gako Unguator electronic mortar and pestle, and an Inversina manual tumbler mixer. Also, our balance connects directly to the computer for the proper weighing of chemicals.
USP <795> & DQSA Compliance
Our facilities are in full-compliance with State and Federal regulations. We also take pride in strictly following the United States Pharmacopeia (USP) <795> chapter requirements and the Drug Quality Security Act (DQSA) requirements.
Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
Maintaining our comprehensive SOP manual ensures that we achieve efficient, quality outputs and a uniformity of performance. We understand the importance of having step-by-step instructions that are transparent so that our compounding pharmacists and technicians are properly trained and can carry out complex routine operations the same way every single time.
Member of the Recycle Utah Green Business Program
We are proud to be the first and only pharmacy member of the program in Utah. To remain in the Green Business Program, we vigorously recycle materials like glass, Styrofoam, hard and soft plastics, as well as almost all packaging supplies and syringes. We also outfitted our pharmacy with energy efficient LED lighting and we actively encourage proper recycling efforts in our neighborhood by handing out informational flyers to other shop owners.
We are also honored recipients of the 2020 Green Business Resiliency Award, recognizing our resiliency through the challenging times of COVID-19 and our maintained commitment to the environment.
